I planned my daughters entire wedding in 2009 and loved every minute of the experience. We had a sit down dinner for 290 guests. When it came to the day of her wedding I realized I was running all over the place and not enjoying the day as I should as Mother of the Bride. I had candles to light (a lot of candles to light!) I had people who showed up who did not RSVP and there was not place for them to sit, and various other little problems that arose and I was the only one to handle those problems.
After the wedding excitement wore down I realized if I had had a 'Day Of" Coordinator I would have enjoyed my daughters wedding day to it's fullest. I decided to take an on-line class to become a Wedding Planner. I wanted to be sure that other Mothers of the Bride and Groom could relax and enjoy their child's wedding day and not worry about the tiny details. I started out planning weddings for friends and the feedback I received was wonderful.
What I found after doing several weddings and with the excellent reviews, is I am pretty darn good at this. I am very organized, I have strict attention to detail and I can work with anyone. If there are any problems, I will address them quickly, diplomatically and efficiently. You won't even know there was a problem! You will be able to enjoy your day and not have to deal with any detail. I will take care of everything for you. You will have a stress free perfect day!
My general approach as a Wedding Coordinator is that no one will bother you with anything all day. I'm the first vendor at the venue. I make sure all of your Vendors are doing what they should be doing at the time it's supposed to be done. My clipboard almost never leaves my hands, and my eye stays on my watch. This allows me to keep things running on time, while allowing for flexibility. I carefully evaluate any issues that come up, figure out a solution, and decide if it's worth bothering you (typically never.) I have a naturally calm head in a crisis. And understand: real crises almost never happen at weddings (small issues, however, do come up.) Allow me to be your Wedding Coordinator and your day will be Spectacular!
In order to have a perfect wedding day we must start with the perfect timeline. Timelines can be confusing when you’ve never created one—even if you’ve attended many weddings you probably haven’t paid much attention to how long each individual aspect lasted. Diane, your Professional Wedding Coordinator will work with you to set up a perfect Timeline so your day will run smoothly.
Timelines are a guideline, not set in stone. I typically start each wedding day with a two-page, single-spaced timeline—it contains every single thing that every single person is doing for the entire day. But, it’s extremely rare that a reception hits every point at the minute it’s supposed to. For example; we move up the first dance because everyone finished eating early. Starting and ending the wedding on time are key—hitting everything in the middle in the approximate right order is important, but it is also important to be flexible. Diane, your Wedding Planner will create the Timeline for your day according to your wishes and with my experience, I will keep your day running smoothly just as we planned!
